The 2019 Oregon Regional MATE ROV Competition will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Lincoln City Community Center in Lincoln City, Oregon. This is the same place where the competition was held in 2017 and 2018. Team registration will open on the Oregon Regional website February 1st and will close on March 31, 2019. By the time registration closes, all teams and team members (students and adult mentors) must be registered. There will be a non-refundable cost associated with registering a team this year, so please register wisely.
The following classes will compete at the Oregon Regional competition: SCOUT, NAVIGATOR and RANGER. The top scoring team(s) in the RANGER class will be eligible to advance to the International MATE ROV Competition which will be held June 20-22 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Things to think about now:
1. Put the April 20 date on your calendar and tell your school/organization about it so that conflicts do not arise.
2. Have your team check out the Competition Product Demonstration and Specs Briefing. Full competition manuals for each class should be available by December.
3. If you use Facebook, "like" the MATE ROV page: https://www.facebook.com/materovcompetition/, as this is a good place to find out when competition manuals, videos, and other materials are released. They also have live help sessions that will help your team better understand the missions, rules and how to build the props. Also, "like" our Regional Page: https://www.facebook.com/OregonRegionalMATEROV/ for news specific to our Regional competition and teams.
This website will be updated by the MATE ROV program coordinators soon, so stay tuned for a fresh new look for 2019!
